• Peanut Farm

This scenic spot features two distinct breaks - an inner, mellow, sand bottomed break for beginners immediately on the beach and a punchier, rocky, outer section to the right of the point for experienced surfers.

  • Elephant Rock

Another fun, mellow wave with a sandy bottom, easy takeoff and long peeling rides - perfect for learning to catch waves and work on turns. Avoid the lagoon, but make sure you climb the rock for the spectacular sunsets.

  • Baby Point

Arugam Bay's iconic barreling Main Point becomes Baby Point, offering a gentler, more forgiving version of the main break with a soft, sandy-bottom with relaxed take-offs - perfect when you're just starting out.

  • Pottuvil Point

A playful, consistent right-hand point break that peels over sandbanks. It breaks close to the shore, making it easy to step off onto the sand and walk back to the take-off. Perfect for long nose rides, with a fast and sometimes barreling midsection.

  • Komari - Lighthouse

Idyllic, yet more remotely situated, the waves here may be unpredictable, but when the conditions align, the breaks offer excellent surfing for those comfortable taking unbroken waves to the more advanced.

  • My girlfriend and I had our first time surf lesson with Rizi this morning at Peanut Farm beach and I’d highly recommend for anyone looking at lessons.

He was great fun, very patient and also detailed in the preparation on land which meant both of us were able to stand on our first attempts. Talks you through every moment in the water and gets rid of any nerves for first timers! Brilliant!

  • We were very lucky to be able to spend four days with Rizi and Jenni. Surfing was a lot of fun and they both took great care of my son (6) and me. Jenni took great photos of us.

The surf school is definitely great for families and children. Rizi is great with children and was very motivating. Absolutely recommended! Thanks for the great time.

Surf lesson at Elephant Rock

The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun.

Arugam Bay is Rizi's hometown - he has been surfing for 18 years and you will find his love of wave riding highly infectious! He became certified as an International Surfing Association (ISA) instructor in 2018 so rest assured that while lessons are fun and relaxed, we coach at a high standard with safety and professionalism at the heart of everything we do. Rizi has worked as Surf Coach at Stay Golden hotel for a number of years and opened his own school earlier this year.

Our goal is to give you a safe and epic intro, smooth comeback, or chance to level up your surfing skills - packed with good vibes and memories of Arugam Bay that will stick with you long after the waves.
